Literature Online Fulltext Collection (LION) is a digital library with more than 350,000 full-text searchable works of English and American poetry, drama and prose. Moreover, it provides hypertext links to further approx. 15,000 literary texts found by editors of Chadwyck-Healey on more than 1,600 free-access web servers and indexed. It includes glossaries, reference publications and bibliographic records in the area of English and American literature, including those that had not been available in electronic form, and many other literary materials. There is also structured access to discussion groups, electronic literary magazines, meta-pages, author pages and library catalogues in the area of English-language literature. “Master Index” is an aggregated list of all authors and their works and it will be the basis of many search strategies.

LITERATURE ONLINE covers works from the 6th century to the present day and makes available full texts of 65 literary magazines, 38 volumes of critical essays and a complete bibliographic database ABELL. The reference section includes for example The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Literary Terms.
