The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) is one of the most respected academic interpretative dictionaries of the English language. It contains a description of the meaning, etymological origin and pronunciation of more than half a million English words. The electronic version offers access to all twenty works published in 1989 and to thousands of other entries continuously updated every three months. OED allows full text search and browsing by several categories. It is especially useful when reading and writing English texts as well as to refine search keywords.
